V1.0

Items needed to complete.

  • CA glue
  • 2.5 mm wrench
  • Soldering Iron
  • Solder
  • Loctite
  • Power supply connectors (typically 4mm bullets)
  • Optional but recommended, hot glue

LOCTITE all grub and regular screws.

LED Assembly

Step 1: Solder the LED strips. (x2)

  • Strip and tin one side of each set of wires.
  • Solder the solid red wire to the positive side of the LED strip and the red/black side to the negative. Pay attention to the polarity here.
  • Do not solder to the small cut pads, use the first set of full pads available.

NOTE: We solder the wire before putting it into the aluminum LED channel. The aluminum channel would bleed off the soldering iron's heat if the LEDs were already in the channel.

    PARTS: LED and wire

NOTE: Only split one end of the wire. Do not split both ends until the assembly is complete.

    Step 2:

    • Peel the adhesive backing off of the LED strip and place the LED strip into the LED Channel (x2)

NOTE: The NON-wired end of the LED strip needs to be placed at the tip of the LED channel OPPOSITE of the holes in the LED Channel

PARTS: LED with wires soldered, LED Channel.

      Step 3:

      • Place the white light diffuser cover onto the LED channel, and glue the end cap into place.
      • The diffuser should be flush with the non-wire end of the LED channel and have a gap on the wire side.
      • BEST PERFORMANCE: First, leave enough wire so the LED bar can swivel up and down. Not required but for safety add some hot glue into the red circle areas. The stress of raising and lowering can cause the solder connection to break. Adding hot glue sets the stress point onto the wire and not the solder tabs.

PARTS: LED strip and wires, LED channel, light diffusers

        Step 4:

        • Thread the wire from the LED strip through the top LED Shelf (x2)

Threading the wire works best if you cut the wire with two angles.

NOTE: Straighten the wire before threading. Press the wire between your index finger and thumb, then pull the wire through your fingers to ensure the wire is as flat as possible.

Step 5: Attach the LED’s to the LED Shelf (x2)

          • Using the 2 M3 20mm socket-head screws, place each screw through the outside of the LED shelf, bring the LED channel into the opening in the middle of the LED shelf, and thread the M3 20 screw all the way through the shelf and the LED channel. Use the M3 knob on the open end of the screw.

PARTS: LED Channel, LED Shelf, M3 20mm, M3 Knob

Step 6: Attach the LED shelves to each 20x40 vertical.

IMPORTANT!!! One side of the verticals are threaded and the other is NOT. Make sure the threaded side is facing UP. This is for the handle screws.

          • With the FLAT part of the 20x40 vertical facing you, place the excess wire into the t-slot channel.
          • Place the shelf onto the top of the 20x40 vertical. You must exercise caution here. The wires that come out of the inside of the LED shelf need to be centered in the t-slot. You do not want to force the shelf. This could cause the wire to become pinched or sliced causing a potential short. Press over the opening of the shelf only.

PARTS: 20x40 Vertical flat side facing you. Completed LED shelf

Step 7: Secure the shelf. (x2)

          • Place 2 t-slot nuts inside of each channel on the back of the 20x40 vertical.
          • Slide each nut under the shelf and center the nut with the holes on the back of the shelf.
          • Use 2 Low Profile M5x8 screws to thread into each nut. Do not over-tighten. You may leave these screws somewhat loose for now and do final adjustments at the end of the assembly.

          PARTS: 20x40 verticals, 4 t-slot nuts, 4 M5x8 low-profile screws

          Standard Shelf Assembly

          Step 8: Standard Shelves. (x4)

          • Take the 4 standard shelves and place 2 shelves on each 20x40 vertical.
          • Start from the bottom and work the shelves to a general position.
          • Make sure the wire from the LED shelf stays inside the t-slot when adding all shelves.
          • For each of these shelves place 2 t-slot nuts into the t-slot channels, and center each nut under the center of each hole on the shelves.
          • Use the low-profile M5x8 screws to secure each nut. Just snug up the screws for now.  You can tighten the final assembly at the end of the instructions.

          PARTS: 4 Standard shelves, 8 low-profile M5x8, 8 t-slot nuts

          Base Assembly

NOTE: Thread lock everything! Install all of your grub screws first, this will make final assembly easier due to the angles required to tighten the grubs.

Your grub screws should be loose enough to allow all of the parts to move and not bind. Final assembly should be done on a flat surface to make sure your base is square and flat.

There are 4 pieces of aluminum for the base. 2 “short” and  2 “long” The two short pieces are the sides, and the two long pieces are the front and back. Please note the flat face on each piece.

KIT UPDATE: All new versions of this kit will come with 6 black L-brackets.

The two L-brackets will go in the back of the stand as seen in this photo.

The brackets only need one grub screw and lock them in.

The grub screw goes to the outside rail and not the back rail.

Placing the L-bracket into the back rail first may make it easier to slide the side rails on or press the side rails inward.

           Step 9: Back Rail

          • Take one long piece and face the flat side away from you.
          • In the top slot place 4 Silver L-brackets. These L-Brackets will be used to hold the 20x40 verticals in place. Put two L-Brackets together with the faces of the verticals touching each other.
          • Slide all 4 of them into the top t-Slot.
          • Take 3 t-slot nuts and place them in the slot facing you.

          PARTS: 1 “Long” 20x20 rail, 4 L-brackets, 3 t-slot nuts.

          Step 10: Front Rail

          • Take the other “Long” 20x20 rail and face the flat side towards you.
          • On the opposite side of the flat side, place 3 t-slot nuts. (not pictured)
          • On the top t-slot add 1 or 2 t-slot nuts for the charger connector.

          PARTS: 1 “Long” 20x20 rail, 2 L-brackets, 4-5 t-slot nuts.

          Step 11: Side Rails

          • Take two black L brackets and place them into the rail opposite of the flat side
          • Do this for both left and right side rails

NOTE: The direction of L brackets matters, if you put them in the wrong way they will not slide all the way in. Please see positioning in the photo below.

          PARTS: 2 “Short” 20x20 4 Black L brackets

          Step 12: Power Supply

          • Place the 3 power supply brackets into the center of the base.
          • There are 2 different types of brackets.
          • Make sure the bracket with the protrusion is the last bracket the protrusion bracket should almost be in the center.
          • Lightly tighten the screws.
          • This will keep the power supply from sliding back and forth.
          • Use 6 M5 flathead screws to secure the 3 brackets into the t-slot nuts.
          • Keep the front rail and both left and right rails flush and square.
          • Pull the rear 20x20 rail inward to secure the screws.

PARTS: 3 power supply brackets, 6 M5 flathead screws.

          Step 13: Power Supply Spacing

          • Place the power supply into the base.
          • Adjust each of the brackets to support your power supply.
          • Make sure the last power supply brace with protrusion is placed up against the end of the power supply.

          • Gently remove the power supply without disturbing the brackets.
          • Tighten the 6 screws.

          Step 14: Secure the base.

          • With the power supply braces secured, we will begin to tighten the base brackets.
          • Make sure the front, left and right sides are square.
          • Gently tighten the front left SIDE bracket and then the front right SIDE bracket.
          • With both the left and right side brackets secured, tighten the front side brackets.
          • Keep everything as square as possible as you work.
          • Tighten the rear left and rear right side brackets.
          • Once those are tightened then tighten both sides of the rear brace.

          Step 15: The Handle.

NOTE: Before starting this step the wires that were supplied are two different lengths. The longest length of wire should go to the side furthest away from your power supply connections. Looking from the front of the stand, the longest length should be on the right side if your power supply connectors are on the left.

          • Place the handle rounded side down
          • Place 1 20x40 vertical into a slot. The flat part of the handle should cover the top of the vertical
          • Align the holes in the handle with the threaded holes in the verticals. Use 2 low-profile M5x10 screws to secure
          • Do the same for the other side.

PARTS: Handle, 4 low profile M5x10 screws

Step 16: Attach the 2 verticals to the base.

          • Separate each L-bracket to fit into the left and right slide of each vertical t-slot. This has to be done on both verticals.
          • Keep the excess wire out of the way to avoid the wire from being pinched.
          • Once positioned the way you want it, tighten the grub screws inside the verticals first. Then the grubs screws in the base.

PARTS: Completed Base and Completed shelves

Step 17:  Attach your Charger stand.

          • Take your selected charger stand and attach the stand(S) with an M5x8 flat head screw into the t-slot nut(s) placed in step 10.

PARTS: Charger Stand, 1 or 2 M5x8 Flathead screw

Step 18: Align your shelves according to your needs.

          • Each set of shelves should be set level across from the other.
          • Once you are happy with the position of the shelves, tighten all screws to lock the shelves in place.
          • Place your LED channels in the downward position and attach the two supplied shelf clips onto the lowest shelf.

          PARTS: Standard shelf clips x2

Step 19: Tidy up, add the end caps

Place the end caps onto the front sides of the 20x20

           PARTS: 2x 20x20, end caps

Step 20: Double-check and tighten up all screws

          • Place the base on a flat surface. Loosen and tighten the grub screws until the base is perfectly flat. (or as close as possible)
          • Finalize and tighten all l-bracket grub screws.
          • Adjust your shelves according to your vehicle needs
          • Finalize and tighten all shelf screws
          • Make sure the handle screws are tight

Step 21: Begin adding components and ENJOY!

          Miscellaneous:
